WPPSS CORRESPONDENCE As you know, I assumed responsibility as Managing Director of the Supply System on August 4, 1980.
It would~i.therefore, be appropriate for all correspondence which was previously sent to Mr. Strand to be sent to my attention.
I have found that the Managing Director's job is every bit as challenging as I anticipated and have taken the initial steps to see that all our five nuclear plants are completed at the earliest possible date, consistent with assurance that they will be as safe to operate as possible.
On August 12,
- 1980, we had a good meeting with Mr. Engelken and his staff in Walnut Creek, and I very much appreciate their open-ness in helping me to understand what has been found in the NRC inspections of our 0'2 plant as an important step in our determin-ing what improvements we need to implement.
I hope to maintain a personal dialog with both Mr. Engelken and you and would appreciate hearing from you relative to any concerns on your part that might develop during your reviews of information we present during the licensing process.
