CORRECTION OF MEETING MINUTES Ref.: Minutes of Meeting with WPPSS regarding potential conflict of interest affecting its gA program, dated April 2, 1980, prepared by M.'. Lynch.

Dear Mr. Lynch:

In reviewing the minutes of the subject meeting held between the NRC staff and representatives of WPPSS on January 4, 1980, we note the following two items which require clarification.

In the first paragraph of the. minutes, it is noted that the pur-pose of the meeting was to discuss the "...potential conflict of interest that could arise if the 14 gA engineers in the integrated WPPSS-Burns & Roe gA Organization on WNP-2 were to vote to join Local 598....9 As shown on Plate 6 of enclosure 2 attached to the subject minutes, the 14 gA engineers are employees of WBG joint venture (a contractor to WPPSS), and are'not'part of the integrated WPPSS-,Burns & Roe gA Organization.

2) The last paragraph on page 2 of the minutes notes that: .."In sub-sequent discussion on this matter, it was determined that WPPSS had successfully convinced the 14 gA personnel not to join Local 598....9

Mr. M. D. Lynch Page Two In a recent telephone conversation between us, you stated that the subsequent discussion referred to was a telephone conversation which we had on February 28, 1980. Since there was an apparent mi,sunder-.

standing of that conversatiqn, allow. me to state very clearly that was no effort made by llPPSS or its employees to influence the 'here outcome of the subject vote. It is contrary to WPPSS policy to attempt to influence such decisions- by its own employees, much. less to become involved in contractor activities.

Please take the necessary steps to amend the meeting minutes such that these two points are clarified.

Very truly yours,

'G. C. SORENSEN, SuperVisop Licensing'ngineering GCS:nm cc: Mr. N. S. Reynolds
