CPPR-93 Discri tion of deficienc The potential missile producing nonsafety related RPS MG Sets are installed in a Class IE Area.
This installation arrangement imposes a
potential hazzard to the safety related. equipment in the area.
Safet Si nificance In the event of a flywheel failure, the lack of positive protection barriers between the RPS M G Set flywheels and the adjacent Class IE equipment could result in the loss of or damage to, safety related equipment in the area.
In this instance, assuming a single failure in one Division, the alternate Division could be disabled due to a missile generating failure of the RPS M G Sets.
Corrective Action Protective barriers are being designed.
The installation of these protective barriers, in the event of a RPS M G flywheel failure, wi 11 preclude any potential missile damage to the Class IE equipment in the area.
