RESPONSE

TO IE BULLETIN NO. 79-16 DOCKET NUHBER 50-397 This letter represents the Supply System response to IE Bulletin No. 79-16, "Vital Area Access Controls".

The Supply System currently has no plants with Operating Licenses.

The WNP-2 plant is now in the review process for an Operating License and is awaiting NRC response to the Physical Security Plan submittal.

The commitments in the WNP-2 Physical Security Plan are in accord with the cri teria established in Action Items one through nine of IE Bulletin No. 79-16..

The specific procedures which will address these criteria have not been'formulated and will not be formulated until the commitments made in the WNP-2 Physical Security Plan have been reviewed and commented on by the NRC review group, and the electronic control system final design has been confirmed.

Please be assured that all WNP-2 access control planning and procedures development will consider the criteria set forth in IE Bulletin No. 79-16.
