Dear Hr. Engelken:
Your staff was notified of a potentially reportable 10CFR50,55(e) deficiency on February 23, 1979, regarding an essential
- fan, RRA-FN-12, being fed by a non-essential motor control center, HCC 7C-A.
Hr.
T. Bishop of your staff, on March 29,
- 1979, requested the status of the HPPSS reportable deficiency report which is required within thirty (30) days, the identification of a 10CFP50.55(e) reportable condition.
It is apparent that a misunderstanding has occurred.
HPPSS did not report this condition as a reportable deficiency to NRC under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).
The telecon of Febru-ary 23, 1979 was a communique to Region V identifyinq a potentially reportable condition.
As of this date, an enqineering directive has been issued which will assure that when the installation is-made, the essential
- fan, RRA-FN-12, will be fed by an essential motor control center Hcc 78.
The evaluation of this potentially reportable condition has not been completed.
