TRIP REPORT ST.
LUCIE UNIT NO. 2 OCTOBER 23, 1980 Walt Apley of Battelle Northwest Laboratories and I met with members of the facility's startup group to discuss their initial test program and the review of FSAR Chapter 14.
Enclosure 1 provides a list of attendees.
We discussed the type of information and the level of detail that they needed to have in Chapter 14.
>le also discussed specific problem areas that were found to have been repeated in test programs at other facilities.
The applicant gave us a brief tour of the startup group facilities and described the administrative controls for the test program.
lie concluded that Florida Power and Light Company has performed the necessary planning and has established administrative controls adequate to conduct the initial test program.
'e had a brief exit interview with the plant manager and other utility representatives (see Enclosure 2 for attendees).
We informed them of our intent to complete the Chapter 14 review expeditiously to support their test program and licensing schedules.
However. to support their schedule, it will be necessary for them to revise Chapter 14 to address Revision 2 of Regulatory Guide le68 and to complete the other items that were discussed at the meeting.
This revision should be submitted prior to the time that we start our review of the initial test program (currently expected to begin in the spring of 1981).
