Miller, Administrator U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission NRC Region I 475 Allendale Road King ofPrussia, Pennsylvania 19406-1415 Enclosed is a copy ofthe final exercise report for the June 11, 1997, fullparticipation plume exposure pathway joint exercise ofthe off-site radiological emergency response plans specific to the Robert E.Ginna Nuclear Power Station.
The State ofNew York as well as Wayne and Monroe Counties participated in this exercise.
The Region IIstaffof the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) prepared the final exercise report and willforward a copy ofthis report to the State ofNew York.
There were no Deficiencies and four Areas Requiring Corrective actions identified during the June 11, 1996, exercise.
FEMARegion IIstaffwillmonitor the status ofthe corrective actions.
Based on the results ofthe June 11; 1997, exercise, a determination has been made that the off-site radiological emergency response plans for the State ofNew York and the affected local jurisdictions, Wayne and Monroe Counties, specific to the Robert E.
Ginna Nuclear Power Station can be implemented and are adequate to provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken off-site to protect the health and safety ofthe public in the event ofa radiological emergency at the site. Therefore, the Title 44 CFR, part 350, approval ofthe off-site radiological emergency plans and applicable preparedness measures for the State ofNew York and the local jurisdictions, specific to the Robert E. Gina Nuclear Power Station site, granted by FEMAon August 19, 1986, willremain in effect.
