SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE DOCKET NO: 50-244 UNIT: R.E. Qinna Nuclear Power Plant DATE: November 11 1996 COMPLETED BY:

John Walden TELEPHONE: 16 771-3588 MONTH October 1996 The unit began the. month at full power. A power reduction of the unit on October 17, 1996 was initiated due to indications of Main Transformer problems. Further investigations determined that a shutdown of the unit was required. A manual shutdown of the unit was completed on October 24, 1996. Change-out of the main transformer with a spare was started with work expected to be completed by mid-November.
