Dear Or. Mecredy:
This letter transmits
the June
18,
1995 to July 29,
1995 inspection findings
of Messrs.
P. Drysdale,
E. Knutson,
and others
from this office at the
R.
E.
Ginna Nuclear.
Power Plant.
At the
end of the inspection,
the findings were
discussed
with Mr. J.
Widay and other members of your staff.
The inspection
was focused
on areas
relevant to public health
and safety
and
examined the control of operations,
maintenance,
engineering,
and plant
support activities.
Within this scope,
no violations were identified.
However,
we noted
one example
where your corrective action process
was not
fully implemented
when
a turbine runback modification resulted
in
unanticipated
control
rod motion following the loss of an offsite power
circuit on June
30,
1995,
In accordance
with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice,"
a copy of
this letter
and its enclosure will be placed in the
NRC Public Document
Room.
No response
