Dear Mr. Johnson:
On December 21,
- 1994, RG&E submitted proposed Revision 21 to the Quality Assurance Program for Station Operation in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(a)(3).
On February 21,
- 1995, Richard Watts of our staff contacted Michael Modes (Materials
- Section, Region
- 1) to request the status of NRC's review of our submittal, because RG&E had received no response up to that. date.
Mr. Modes indicated that the review status could not be determined due to the illness and unavailability of the principal staff reviewer.
Although 60 days had elapsed since the submittal date, thus resulting in approval per 10 CFR 50.54(a),
Mr.
Watts suggested that RG&E delay implementation of Revision 21 pending the completion of NRC's review.
Accordingly, we will defer implementation of the subject Revision 21 for an additional 60 days from today's date to enable completion of NRC staff's review.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can clarify any aspects of our QA submittal.
