RESPONSE

TO NRC BULLETIN 90-01, SUPPLEMENT 1, "LOSS OF FILL OIL IN TRANSMITTERS MANUFACTURED BY ROSEMOUNT" R.

E.

GINNA NUCLEAR POWER PLANT (TAC NO. H85391)

Dear Dr. Hecredy:

By letter dated March 5,

1993, you provided a response to NRC Bulletin 90-01, Supplement 1, for R.

E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant.

Your response stated that you reviewed the Bulletin supplement and determined that no additional actions are necessary for the Ginna Station.

You explained that each of the transmitters in service or in stock at Ginna Station falls into one of the categories that may be excluded from the enhanced surveillance program requested by Supplement 1.

Four of the Rosemount transmitters are model 1154 and are manufactured after July ll, 1989; therefore, they are excluded from Supplement 1.

Two of the transmitters are model 1153 and are excluded since they are not safety related.

The remaining 10 Rosemount transmitters are models 1152 and 1151, thereby excluded from Supplement l.

The NRC staff has reviewed your responses and finds that you have satisfied the requested actions of NRC Bulletin 90-01, Supplement 1, for R.

E. Ginna Nuclear Power. Plant.

This completes the NRC staff's activities associated with TAC No. H85391.

Further NRC review, if any, will be performed by inspection or audit.
