REPORT
50-244/94-23
This letter transmits
the findings of an inspection of licensed operator
requalification training conducted
by J. Stewart
and K. Erickson from
October
3 to 7,
1994, at the
R.
E. Ginna Nuclear
Power Plant.
The inspection
was conducted to verify that the Ginna requalification program for licensed
operators
ensured
safe
power plant operation
by adequately
evaluating
how well
individual operators
and crews
have mastered training and performance
objectives.
The inspection findings were based
on observations
of activities,
interviews,
document reviews,
and were discussed
with J.
Widay and other
members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Overall, the licensed operator training and requalification programs
were
determined to be very good.
A review of recent operational
performance
shows
that the training and requalification programs
have
been effective in ensuring
continued
safe operation of the facility.
In accordance
with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations,
a copy of
this letter and its enclosure will be placed in the
NRC Public Document
Room.
