EXTENSION OF GENERIC LETTER 89-10 PROGRAM SCHEDULE (TAC NO. H89202)

On Hay 27,

1994, you submitted a letter providing the current status of the Ginna motor-operated valve (MOV) program developed in response to Generic Letter (GL) 89-10, "Safety-Related Motor-Operated Valve Testing and Surveillance," for the Ginna Nuclear Power Plant.

In the Hay 27 letter, you also requested an extension to the Ginna MOV program beyond the currently committed schedule provided to the NRC on, December 28, 1989, in response to GL 89-10.

You originally committed to complete your testing

program, in response to GL 89-10, within the recommended schedule.

In your Hay 27

letter, you requested an extension of your GL 89-10 program to June 28, 1995.

The NRC staff found your Hay 27 letter contained sufficient information to conduct a meaningful review and was formatted consistent with the guidance 'for extension requests provided in GL 89-10, Supplement 6.

A conference call was conducted with your representatives, members of the NRC Region I staff, and members of the NRR staff on July 14, 1994, to discuss questions that had arisen during the review of your Hay 27 letter.'ll questions were answered to the satisfaction of the NRR and Region I participants.

Accordingly, the'taff accepts the GL 89-10 program extension as requested in your Hay 27, 1994, letter.
