SUBJECT:
INITIALEXAMINATIONREPORT NO. 50-244/93-17 (OL)
From September
13-17, 1993, the NRC administered examinations to eleven employees of
your company who had applied for licenses to operate the R. E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant.
The result was that all candidates
passed their examinations and were issued licenses.
The
examination was conducted in accordance with Revision 7 to NUTMEG-1021, "Operator
Licensing Examiner Standards."
At the conclusion of the examinations,
the examiners discussed
questions about the
examinations and preliminary findings with Mr. Widay and Mr. Maier and those members of
your staff identified in the enclosed report.
Two items were identified concerning directions
to operators contained in the Ginna station emergency operating procedures
that address
actuation of safety injection and recovery of emergency power using the diesel generators.
