Dear Mr. Johnson:
The purpose of this letter is to notify your office that Rochester Gas and Electric Inservice Inspection Program willincorporate Code Case N-481 Ref (a).
This code case has been included in Regulatory Guide 1.147, Revision 9, dated April 1992, and determined suitable for use as described in 10CFR50.55(a) footnote 6.
The use of a Regulatory Guide 1.147 code case is provided for in the R.E. Ginna Quality Assurance Manual, Appendix B, Section 1.2.3.
Code Case N-481 provides alternate examination requirements in lieu of performing volumetric examinations for "Cast Austenitic Pump Casings".
The analysis (WCAP-13606 Rev.
- 1) required by the code case will be retained at the plant site and be available for Nuclear Regulatory Commission audit.
