SUBJECT:
REQUALIFICATIONPROGRAM INSPECTION In a telephone conversation on July 7, 1993, between Mr. Joseph D'Antonio of this office and Mr. Frank Maciuska of your training department, arrangements were made to evaluate the requalifiication program at the Ginna Nuclear Power Station.
As requested in your letter of April20, 1993, the NRC willperform this evaluation based on inspection activities in accordance with NRC Inspection Manual, Temporary Instruction TI-2515/117, in place of an NRC-administered requalifiication exam.
A copy of this temporary instruction has been provided to Mr. Maciuska.
The inspection willbe performed based on facility-administered examinations that are scheduled to start the week of 8/23/93.
The specific on-site inspection willbe performed during the week of 9/20/93.
In order to prepare for the inspection activities, you willneed to furnish the following materials.
Training Manual/Training Instructions Sample Plan/Test Outline Copies of the first two weeks'xam materials (by 8/23/93)
Copies of exam materials to be administered during the inspection (when generated)
Mr. Maciuska has agreed to provide initial materials by 8/23/93, with additional exam material to be provided as it is generated approximately two weeks prior to administration.
Your staff should assure appropriate measures are taken to preclude examination compromise when submitting these materials.
