Inspection No. 50-244/93-11
A safety inspection of your emergency preparedness
(EP) program was conducted by Mr. C.
Gordon of this office on May 18-21, 1993 at the R. E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant, Scriba,
New York. Discussions of our findings were held by Mr. Gordon with you and others
members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I Inspection Report
which is enclosed with this letter. Within those areas,
the inspection consisted of
observations by the inspector, interviews with personnel,
and examination of selected
procedures
and records.
Overall, this inspection found very good EP program implementation.
Support from site
management
was evident.
Emergency response facilities and equipment were operationally
ready.
Emergency response organization training was complete, and independent program
audits were well performed.
No reply to this letter is required.
