Ginna Nuclear Power Plant Inservice Inspection Program for the 1990-1999 Interval R.E.

Dear Mr. Johnson:
The purpose of this letter is to provide notification of a revision to the R.E.
Ginna Station Quality Assurance Manual Appendix B,
Third Interval Inservice Inspection Program.
Specifically, Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E) no longer requires the use of Relief Request number 10.
Relief Request number 10 is described in detail in the Commission's response letter dated August 6, 1990.
Relief Request number 10 is no longer required since field verification identified a bolted flange connection located above the standby auxiliary feedwater pumps Condensate Test Tank.
This bolted flange connection can provide the needed isolation for hydrostatic testing with the insertion of a blind flange.
- Further, an engineering evaluation was performed to determine if the 150-1 piping line specification could withstand the required hydrostatic test pressure of 1760 to 1865 psig associated with the Class 3
piping line specification of 902s.
This evaluation confirmed that capability.
Mechanical Engineering Analysis ME-91-0012 Rev.
0 dated August 7.,
1991 contains the necessary justification.
