R. E. GINNARESIDENT INSPECTION 50-244/92-08 (4/19/92 - 5/26/92)
This letter transmits the April 19 to May 26, 1992 inspection findings of Messrs. T. Moslak
and E. Knutson at the R. E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant. At the end of the inspection, Mr.
T. Moslak of my staff summarized the findings with Mr. T. Schuler and other members of
your staff.
The inspection examined the overall control of activities during the annual refueling/
maintenance outage, including mid-loop operations, plant start-up, and power escalation.
We
found the integrated performance of your organization to be effective in coordinating and
managing these activities.
Particularly noteworthy was the significant reduction in total
personnel exposure achieved during the outage period.
This effort reflects well-structured,
integrated planning and strong management
support.
No response to this letter is required.
