Dear Mr. Johnson:
Enclosed is an Application for Amendment to Operating License No. DPR-18 to amend Appendix A of that license to redefine the snubber visual inspection schedule pursuant to guidance con-tained in reference (a).
- Further, an updated bases section was included to address the provisions of Generic Letter 90-09.
In accordance with reference (b) an evaluation of the proposed change was performed.
The evaluation confirmed that historical maintenance and surveillance data does not invalidate an extension to the existing inspection interval.
In accordance with reference (a), the NRC will determine the number of the license amendment that implements this proposed change.
The first inspection interval determined using the criteria in reference (a) shall be based upon the previous inspection interval as established by the requirements in effect before the amendment that implements this change.
This proposed Amendment should be considered effective 60 days after RG&E receipt of NRC approval.
