Amendment No. 42 R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant Docket No. 50-244
Dear Mr. Johnson:
In our February 15, 1991 Application for Amendment to Operating License relative to the method used to lock open MOV-856, RG8rE suggested that the proposed amend-ment be considered effective 30 days after RG8rE receipt of NRC approval and upon completion of MOV-856 control power circuitry modifications.
By letter dated June 10, 1991, the NRC issued this Amendment, effective im-mediately, and to be implemented. within30 days.
However, due to our determination that a non-conformance exists withthe new key-lock switch installed during the 1991 outage, this modification has not yet been completed.
Therefore, RG8rE requests that a revised effective date tied to the completion of the modification be issued by the NRC.
RGErE willinform the NRC when this date occurs. In the interim period, AC power willcontinue to be removed. from MOV-856 at the breaker as specified in our current Technical Specifications.
