Technical Specification for Reactor Trip Breakers Generic Letter 85-09 R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant Docket No. 50-244
Dear Mr. Stahle:
Rochester Gas and Electric submitted an Application for Amendment to the Ginna Operating License dated, March 10, 1987 to reflect requirements for operation and. testing of the reactor trip breakers.
Discussions with members of the NRC Staff have indicated that minor revisions were necessary to clarify some of the requirements and to impose staggered monthly testing of both trains of automatic trip logic contact sets, each set to be tested on alternating months.
Subsequent to the March 10 proposal and the request. for further information, Amendment No.
24 of the Technical Speci-fications was issued by the NRC.
Amendment 24 made extensive revisions in the context and format of the pages which are also affected by the proposed reactor trip breaker Technical Speci-fications.
Rather than making detailed revisions to the March 10 proposal, Attachments A and B are resubmitted in totality to accommodate the requested changes and to use current Technical Specifications (including Amendment No. 24) as the starting point for the proposal.
As with the original proposal, we request that the effective date of the approved Technical Specification be one month from the date of approval to allow surveillance procedures to be'finalized and implemented in an orderly manner.
Very truly yours, j".88020305i7, 88012b
