SUBJECT:

Response to NRC telecommunication on September 12, 2017 requesting corrections to the Physical Security Plan for the University of Massachusetts Lowell Research Reactor, Revision 8, dated August 7, 2017.

Please find the enclosed Revision 9 to the Physical Security Plan for the University of Massachusetts Lowell Research.Reactor (Enclosure). Corrections have been made as follows:

1. The PSP pages 1 - 38 header and footer have been changed to indicate SGI-M.

2. The typo on page 9 of the PSP (1st paragraph, 1st sentence) has been corrected.

3. The statement from the CMIP (page 6, item 5) has been added to the PSP page 5.

4. A .directional indication has been added to Figure 4.

The changes are deemed not to decrease the effectiveness of the Physical Security Plan. The revised plan continues to meet the requirements of 10CFR 73.67(a). The Physical Security Plan is considered Safeguards Information - Modified Handling. The changes will be implemented effective the date of this letter. Please contact me should you have any questions.
