Dear Mr. Crutchfield:
In your letter of July 31, 1981 relative to this subject, topic, it was suggested that:
At least once per 18 months, during cold shutdown, a
~batter service test should be performed to verify that the battery capacity is adequate to supply and maintain in operable status all of the actual emergency loads for 8 hours9.259259e-5 days <br />0.00222 hours <br />1.322751e-5 weeks <br />3.044e-6 months <br />.

At least once per 60 months, during cold shutdown, a
~batter dischar e test should be performed to verify that the battery capacity is at least, 80$ of the manufacturer's rating.
Rochester Gas and Electric has reviewed these SEP conclusions, and believes that such testing would be beneficial.
Following the completion of the Ginna Integrated Assessment, RG6E plans to make all necessary Technical Specification changes.
The require-ments for the above testing will be included into the Ginna Technical Specifications at that time.
