Qualification of Inspection, Examination, and Testing and Audit Personnel (Generic Letter 81-01)
Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
In response to subject letter, RGGE is committing to meet regulatory positions C.5, 6,
7, 8 and 10 of Regulatory Guide 1.58, Revision 1, and Regulatory Guide 1.146.
The Ginna Station Quality Assurance Manual incorporates the requirements of Regulatory Guide 1.146 for audit personnel qualification effective January 1,
1981.
Revision to the Quality Assurance Manual has been made and distributed effective August 1,
1981 to include requirements for qualification of inspection, examination and testing personnel based on Regulatory Guide 1.58 Revision 1.
Procedure changes are being processed to incorporate the revised requirements.
In anticipation of Regulatory Guide 1.8 "Personnel Selection and Training" being revised to address qualification requirements of test personnel involved in pre-operational, startup and operational
- tests, the Cl position of. Regulatory Guide 1.58 Revision 1 recommends following Regulatory Guide 1.8 in lieu of the guidelines of ANSI N45.2.6-1978.
Until such time that Regulatory Guide l.'8 is revised, test personnel qualifications will continue to be based on ANSI N45-2.6-1978.
