SEP Topic III-6, Turbine Building Bracing R. E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant Docket No. 50-244
Dear Mr. Crutchfield:
In an August 13, 1982 conference call between RGBE, the NRC, and Lawrence Livermore Laboratories, the seismic analysis of the turbine building bracing was discussed.
RG&E committed to reanalyze this bracing, based on an input loading of 231 kips.
Based on the completion of this analysis, RG&E has determined that some modification to the bolted connections in that section of bracing under review are warranted.
Since RGSE is now in the process of evaluating Ginna structures relative to external phenomena loadings (wind, snow, etc.),
RG&E plans to complete these modifications as part of the integrated set of modifications resulting from the structural upgrade program.
