4 This.letter is to acknowledge receipt of your petition under 10 CFR 2.206 requesting certain actions with respect to the R. E. Ginna ))uclear Power Plant.
Your petftfon requests consideration and resolution of a number of issues before the Gfnna plant resumes operation.
In reviewing the circumstances surrounding the steam generator tube rupture and possible resumptfon of operation, the 'staff fs considering a number of fssues-related to the matters you raise.
The specific items of your petition that have already been proposed to be incorporated in the staff's Safety Evaluation Report are:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 13, 14, 15 and 16.
This report will be issued prfor to the restart of the Gfnna plant and a copy.
will be provided to you.
The five remaining items will receive additional consideration by the staff as to their pertinence to the restart of the Ginna plant.
I will make a final determination of your petition as expeditiously'as possible.
In all events, a final decfsion whether to grant or deny the remainder of your petition will be made before any attempt to resume plant operations.
