1984 Steam Generator Tubes Eddy Current. Examination
Dear Dr. Murley:
In accordance with Section 6.9."3.4 of the Ginna Station Technical Specifications we are reporting the results of the 1984 steam generator tubes eddy current examination.
On March, 28, 1'984, the eddy current examinat.ion program was completed on both the "A" and "B" steam generators.'his program consisted of an examination of 1885 of the tubes in each inlet (hot leg) of the steam generator, as well as, a
23'5 and 31'4 of the tubes in the "A" and "B" steam generator outlets (cold leg) respectively.'he length of tube examined varied but included as a minimum from the primary face of the tube sheet through the first support plat,e."
A thorough interpretation and review of the examination data revealed that five tubes in the "B" steam generator had eddy current indicat.ions that, exceeded the Ginna Station steam generator plugging criteria of 48%.
The following is a list of these five tubes, four of which had defects in the tube sheet crevice, the other was at the first support plate:
