Modification of Spent Fuel Storage Racks R. E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant Docket No. 50-244
Dear Mr. Paulson:
On September 24I 1984 members of the NRC staff met with representatives of Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation and its contractor U. S. Tool and Die to discuss the revised seismic analysis for our submittal of April 2I 1984.
During this meeting we agreed to verify'the weld orientation in the racks when a rack was removed from the pool.
On October 22, 1984 Mr. John Cook (RG6E) and Mr. Dale Michel (USTD) inspected Rack 5 and verified that the orientation of the welds in the rack was consistent with that indicated on Figure 5.2.1 of the mechanical analysis attached to our September 27I 1984 letter.
This orientation was used in the calculations.
