SUMMARY

OF FEBRUARY 11, 1985 MEETING - REVIEW OF ANALYTICAL BASIS FOR PROPOSED T.S.I2 LIMITS On February 11,

1985, a meeting was held in the Bethesda, Maryland NRC office to discuss the Coolant Activity Technical Specifications Iodine limits.

This meeting was attended by members of the NRC staff, RGSE and Westinghouse (see attached attendees list).

The licensee notified NRC that a submittal would be forthcoming in the June 1985 timeframe that would request an increase in the Technical Specification limit from 0.2;,ipgi/g to 1.0 pCj/g.

The 0.2 pCi/g limit was imposed by NRC as a result of the January 1982 steam generator tube rupture.

The staff notified the licensee and Westinghouse that they currently have a related document WCAP-10698 (Steam Generator Tube Rupture Analysis Methodology to Determine Margin to Steam Generator Overfill l,proprietary.l)under review and would withhold conclusions on the licensee's approach until the review is complete.

The review is scheduled for completion in the June/July 1985 time-frame.

The licensee stated that they planned on proceeding with their request in the June 1985 timeframe even though they may not know the result of the staff's review of WCAP-10698.
