Letter from W. P. Worden to A. Giambusso dated August 7, 1973, concerning fast closure time -of "lB" MSIV.
Dear Mr. Giambusso:
As per reference 1, this letter is to inform you of the results of the investigation of the fast closure of "lB" MSIV-*.
On August 8, 1973, the oil level in the valve operator was checked and found to be satisfactory.
The other causes of this drift in valve timing cou~d not be determined.
The valve was retimed to close in 3.7 secs, which is within the 3 to 5_sec Technical Specification limits, and returned to service.
The timing of this valve will be closely followed in the future.
