Reference:
RG&E/NRC letter from R.W. Kober'to W.A. Paulson "Inadequate Core Cooling Instrumentation, NUREG-0737, Item II.F.2" dated August 7, 1984.
Dear Mr. Lear:
Our letter dated August. 7, 1984 (Referenced letter) provided information requested by the Staff regarding Inadequate Core Cooling Instrumentation.
That letter committed to providing the Staff with an implementation report 9 months after the Reactor Vessel Level Indication System (RVLIS) was installed.
RG&E completed installation during the Spring 86 outage.
Since that time we have completed functional testing and calibration. In the referenced letter, we stated our intent to implement modified procedures in March of 1987.
- However, because this coinsides with the 1987 planned outage which will impact the training schedule we will implement modified procedures six weeks after the outage.
Attached is an implementation report which describes the RVLIS which has'een installed at Ginna.
