Inspection Report 50-244/87-27 Notice of Violation R.E.
Ginna Nuclear Power Plant Docket No. 50-244
Dear Mr. Russell:
Our letter to you dated February 5, 1988 on the subject Notice of Violation stated that: "Full compliance will be achieved for all Ginna Station System P&IDs by June 30, 1989".
Zn order to ensure the high quality P&IDs which we desire, RG&E has increased the scope of the P&ID Upgrade project beyond what was originally estimated.
Along with the previously communicated corrective steps, RG&E has also incorporated the following items into our P&ID Upgrade effort:
a) gather nameplate information (where accessible) for all valves and equipment shown on the P&IDs; primarily to support development of a mechanical equipment database for use in our Configuration Management Program.
b) field labeling of all valves which were not previously shown on the P&IDs (primarily instrumentation valves);
c) field verification and labeling of many subsystems which appeared as "skid mounted" on the original P&IDs; d) generation and implementation of a Standard Nomenclature list to identify the components shown on the P&IDs.
The incorporation of the above items into our P&ID Upgrade Project has resulted in the generation of approximately 35 new drawings, with significant additional detail.
Because of the increased scope required for RG&E to ensure a
quality end
- product, the currently-projected date for completion of this project is November 30, 1989.
