Steam Generator Mid-Cycle Inspection, Pall 1980 R. E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant, Unit No.

1 Docket No. 50-244

Dear Mr. Crutchfield:

1 In'accordance with your request of 7uly 8, 1980 to inform your staff of our planned inspection program for the Ginna plant's steam generators forty (40) days prior to the rnid-cycle inspection, we submit the following.

A multifrequency eddy current examination willbe performed on 100% of the inlet (hot leg) tubes up to and including the first support plate intersection in both the A and B steam generators.

Particular attention willbe paid to the tube sheet crevice areas in both steam generators; however, to date, we have only seen crevice indications in the B steam generator as reported to you in our April 29, 1980 letter.

Our present schedule calls for this inspection to be performed around November 1, 1980.

Very truly yours, L. D. White, Jr.
