Ginna Nuclear Power Plant Docket No. 50-244
Dear Mr. Ziemann:
This letter is in response to your letter dated July 11, 1978 which requested that we submit proposed Technical Specifications to implement Appendix I to 10 CFR Part 50 by November 8, 1978.
Based on our progress to date it is apparent that we will require additional time to complete our response.
This is due in part to the fact that we are in the process of implementing a number of improvements in our health physics program at Ginna Station which is utilizing most of the time of the people who would otherwise be working on this project.
A contributing factor has been the need to address a number of questions concerning the sample Technical Specifications.
These questions were included in those submitted by letter from Mr.
Carl Walski, Atomic Industrial Forum, to Mr. Harold Denton, USNRC, dated August 16, 1978.
In addition, based on a utility working group's discussions with members of the NRC Staff, we understand that revised guidance on Technical Specification contents is forthcoming in the near future.
Therefore, it seems reasonable to defer our submittal until the results of this revision can be incorporated into our program.
As a'result, we request that the date for our submittal be deferred 60 days.
