This is to report a condition relating to the operation of the station, in which it was found that the secondary containment requirements specified in section 3.7.C.l of the Technical Spedifications were not in effect.
- PROBLEM AND INVESTIGATION On March 27, 1972 at 1300 hours0.015 days <br />0.361 hours <br />0.00215 weeks <br />4.9465e-4 months <br />, with Unit #2 in the refuel mode and Unit #3 in the run mode operating at 800 MWe, it was discovered that both railroad doors on the Unit 2/3 air lock were opened.
Inunediate action was taken, and the doors were closed by 1310.
Investigation revealed that the outer doors were verified closed at :l'iliOOsso thetcontainment requirements were not violated for a period of much more than two.hours.
The identity of personnel ~esponsible for opening *~he doors c,ould not be.determined.
CORRECTIVE ACTION To prevent a similar incid~nt in the future, both inner and outer doors have been and will remain locked except during authorized use, and an operating procedure will be issued detailing the operating of these doors.
