SUMMARY
OF JULY 26, 2017, MEETING WITH NUCLEAR ENERGY INSTITUTE (NEI) REGULATORY ISSUES TASK FORCE (RITF)
On July 26, 2017, a Category 1 public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of the NEI RITF at NRC Headquarters. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss several regulatory issues regarding licensing processes, oversight processes, and other issues. The meeting notice and agenda are available in the Agency-wide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML17184A076. A list of attendees is provided as Enclosure 3.
The NRC staff discussed with the RITF planned licensing action submittals, industry operability determination guidance, long-term discretion for technical specification guidance issues, planning for the 2017 Licensing Training and Professional Forum, and the schedule for the next meeting. Enclosure 1 includes industry notes of the discussions. Enclosure 2 contains a handout from the discussion on projected licensing actions.
One member of the public was in attendance and several were on the conference bridge line.
