PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM STATUS ST LUCIE 1 AND 2 -

DOCKET NOS. 50-335 AND 50-389

Dear Hr. Plunkett:

This letter confirms the telephone conversation between Hr.

Weinkam of your staff and Hr. K. Landis of the NRC on August 18.

1997, concerning a meeting which is scheduled for September 23, 1997, at 10:00 a.m.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the status of your progress on your performance improvement program, the steam generator replacement

outage, and the employee concerns program.

Your discussion regarding the employee concerns program should include your assessment of the environment on site for raising safety concerns.

We are particularly interested in any trends and corrective actions taken for the negative trends.

The location of the meeting will be at our Region II Office in Atlanta, Georgia.

This meeting is an open meeting as per "Staff Meetings Open to the Public; Final Policy Statement" (September 20,

1994, 59 FR 48340).
