REQUALIFICATIONPROGRAM REVIEW
Dear Mr. Stall:
The NRC has reviewed the contents of your letter No. L-96-201 dated August 8, 1996, concerning your licensed operator requalification training program.
The letter contained an attachment which described the scheduling basis for your 24 month requalification program cycle. The NRC found the program to be consistent with the intent of 10 CFR 55.59 as discussed on pages 90 and 91 of NUREG-1262, "Answers to Questions at Public Meetings regarding Implementation of Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 55 on Operators'icenses."
We noted, however, that you revised the two year program to include 480 contact hours of training beginning the cycle which started on January 1, 1995.
This is a program revision representing an increase of 80 contact hours of training.
Please be advised that in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(i-1), and notwithstanding the provisions of f50.59, you may not decrease the scope of your approved requalification program in the future except as specifically authorized by the Commission.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
