M89906
Dear Mr. Goldberg:
By letter dated July 15,
- 1994, as revised and supplemented by [[letter::L-94-193, Informs of GL 89-10 Commitment Change.Util Intends to Reduce Scope of Dynamic MOV Testing for GL 89-10 by Grouping of Testable MOVs & Eliminating MOV Mispositioning Criteria|letter dated August 4, 1994]], Florida Power
& Light (FPL) submitted a request for relief from the required hydrostatic pressure test following the installation of a replacement valve at St.
Lucie Unit 1.
The revised relief request containing additional information to support the FPL's proposed alternate method of testing is granted.
Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(3)(ii) the staff has authorized the alternate testing based on a
finding that compliance with the Code would result in hardship or unusual difficulty without a compensatory increase in the level of quality and safety, Our evaluation is contained in the enclosed Safety Evaluation, Sincerely, (S)
