Pursuant to l.OCFR50.90, the Florida Power % Light Company

.requests an amendment to the Operating License Ho. VPF-16 for St. Lucie Unit 2. The requested amendment increases the presently licensed rated core power level of 2560 HWth to 2700 NWth. Three signed originals and forty copies of this requ st, are enclosed.

The acceptabil.ity of the proposed change has been demonstrated in the previously approved Re1oad Safety Report (References 1 and ?). The potential. environmental impact of operating at. 27'30 NWth rated core power was considered in the Final Environmental Statement (Reference 3) and found acceptable. Enclosures 1 and 2, respectively, provide the marked-up change to Technical Specification 1.25 (page 1-5) and a Mo Significant Hazards Consideration evaluation in support of this proposed change.

The proposed amendment has been reviewed by the St. Lucie Facility Review Group and the Florida Power S Light Company Nuclear Review Board.

In accordance with 10CFR170.12(c) a check for $ 150.00 is attached.
