ENGINEERING VERIFICATION PROGRAM/SL-2 EBASCO TASK FORCE WEEKLY STATUS

SUMMARY

FOR PERIOD DECEMBER 13 DECEMBER 17 II 1.

On Dec.

13 and 14 the ETF received and evaluated the remaining Project Team responses for all outstanding unresolved item (discrepancy) reports (UIRs).

2.

Of the twenty-one UIRs still to be resolved, the ETF considered Project Team responses to thirteen as being satisfactory and the items ready to closeout.

Responses to the remaining eight were considered to be conditionally acceptable.

3.

On Dec.

15, the EVP Review Committee convened in Combustion Engineering's

Bethesda, Maryland office to address all remaining unresolved items generated by the Task Force during the engineering verification program.

NRC representatives were invited and attended the meeting.

4.

Review Committee action on the twenty-one UIRs was as follows:

a.

Committee concurred with ETF on resolution of thirteen UIRs and the items were closed out.

b.

Committee classified seven UIRs as observations and transmitted them to Project Team for action.

c.

Committee classified one UIR as closed unless reopened following Task Force review of additional information to be provided by Project Team.

5.

A total of fifty-six UIRs were prepared by the ETF during the program.

They were broken down as follows by program phase:

PHASE NO.

OF UIRs Independent Design Review Field Installation Verification Start-up Operation Verification 45 6.

The majority of ETF-generated draft material for the program final report was completed prior to the Dec.

15 Review Committee meeting.

(Refer to the C-E Task Force Weekly Status Summary for additional related information)

P

8.

With the work now essentially

complete, the Task Force has started to disband.
