FPL identified their method. of identifying the sepe"ate instrument channels on the main control boards which nas resulted from various hu=an factor reviews.

The hu...an factors report (FPL LTR. L-82-424 of Septemoer 30, 1982) provides further discussion on the methods of identifying the separate instrument channels on the main control boards.

NRC will review this item in-house for acceptability.

Item No. 2:

Boric acid heat tracing channels 5A and 5B have a single alarm on the control board.

How does this provide sufficient

Item No. 3:

The HVAC alarms in the control room do not appear to have redundant inputs.

The indiviual instruments throughout the plant are not color coded.

Cable tray covers were not installed.

This is an NRC observation.

RTG board 206 cable entry area has insufficient cable separation in one area.

The conduit inside the main control boards does not:appear to have sufficient identification to readily determine which elec-trical train passes through each conduit.

P The nameplate designation on several items on the main control board appeared to be incorrect.

~ Item No. 5:

-The acoustic monitoring instrumentation for safety and relief valve leakage monitoring was not available for review.

This is not a finding but only an observation.

1982 Item No. 1:

The access door to the Hot Shutdown Panel room does not have a

door handle or lock.

What steps must an operator take to exit the control room and'ccess the Hot Shutdown Panel?

The Hot Shutdown Panel ap ea ppeared to have inadequate separation

'nternally within the center cabinet.

Provide a list of equipment that is required for cold shutdown including which pieces of equ'pment are not actuated from the Hot Shutdown Panel and which pieces of equipment are not isolable from the control room.

(a) Provide a list of equipment required to maintain hot shutdown.

(b) Provide a list of all transfer switches and their associated equipment including location and which s~itches are j~pered and which switches are alarmed in the control room.

It was noted that many wire terminations are not complete.

This is not a finding by an lKC observation.
