ENGINEERING VERIFICATION PROGRAM/SL-2 EBASCO TASK FORCE WEEKLY STATUS

SUMMARY

FOR PERIOD NOVEISER 15 - NOV&SER 19,1982 l.

Independent vs existing 'design comparisons were completed for verification items 3 - 8 during the period.

2.

Thirty-seven'nresolved item (discrepancy) reports (UIRs),

generated by the ETF during the design comparison stage for items 3 8, were presented to the EVP Review Committee during the November 17 and 18 meetings held in Ebasco's New York office.

Eight of the UIRs were considered resolved by the ETF prior to Committee review.

Following is summary of Review Committee action taken on the 37 UIRs:

a.

12 closed out and accepted.

b.

4 conditionally accepted.

c.

16 required information from Project

Team, then recycle to Task Force.

d.

5 required Task Force clarification," then response fr'om Project Team.

Status of work being performed by ETF as interface with C-E Task Force-re expansion of component boundaries for verification items 1 and 2:

a.'Item 1 HPSI Pum

1) Electrical and I&C independent designs were completed and presented to Review Committee for completeness review. Verbal authorization was given to Project Team Nov 19 to release all requested existing design documents to'TF for design comparison.
2) Design comparisons should start Nov 22.

3) Independent verifications of actual vs allowable pump nozzle loads and of pump found'ation existing design were completed and transmitted to C-E Task Force Nov 19.

b..Item 2 - SIT Isolation Valve 1)

Same status as electrical and I&C independent designs for HPSI Pump per a.1) above.

2)

Design comparisons expected to start Nov. 22.

The ETF started preparing lists of documents to be requested from Project Team for field installation verification and start-up operation verification phases of the program,i%hat work is scheduled to commence Nov 29 and 30 at St. Lucie jobsite.

6.

The next Status Summary to be issued will cover the two-week period from November 22 - December

ENGINEERING VERIFICATION PROGRAM WEEKLY STATUS

SUMMARY

C-E TASK FORCE NOVEMBER 15 NOVI2$ER 19 1.

In preparation for the EVP Review Committee meeting, the C-E EVP Task Force transmitted Packages documenting 27 unresolved item ( discrepancy) reports to each member of the EVP Review Committee.

Of (the 27 reports slated for Committee action, 6 were considered resolved by the C-E Task Force prior to Committee review.

A Review Committee meeting was held at C-E on Friday, November 19, with all

.members attending.

Committee action was as follows:

-12 items were closed out, and accepted by the Committee;

-10 items were recycled to the Task Force for additional engineering analysis;

-5 items were held for additional on-site engineering review prior to further Committee action.

3.

Preparation of on-site verification checklists for C-E EVP Items 1 and 2

continued during this report period. On-site verification of installation and start-up operational test phases will begin about November 29.

4.

The C-E EVP Task Force will provide FPL with advance notification of on-site documentation requirements early in the next report period (approximately one week before field verification begins).
