Dear Chairmen Hmdrie:
I am very much concerned that the Dade County Resource Recovery Plant in Miami, Florida is not yet in operation, lading an interconnection with Florida Pmer
~ Light Capped.
I ~ers~ that the Nuclear R~atory Ccmnissian's Losing Board has ordered FPQ to in~connect with all small pamr prcductim facilities ard other neighboring entities in its se~ce area.
Tne plant in Dade Ccunty is a stIall
~; prcdu~on plant 77 negawatts in capacity in FP&LIs se1~ce area and is presently ready to contribute to sa~fy Florida's electric
- danands, withcut recuse to fareign oil.
Yet if FP&L continues to refuse to interconnect with the Dade County plant the question beccnes whether ar not the NRC willenforce its order.
At this Circe it is especially impzMt far all ccncerned to Xmas whIedar the Carmissicn intends to mve prcxrptly to ca~~ out its public respcnsibilities.
l hereby reauest your advice as to what action your CcmLssion is taking to implement its intercanne tion and trananission reauirenents an behalf of th Resource Becovery Plant.
Sin exely yours, c ~
