Dear Chairman Bowers:

On June 16, 1981, Florida Cities filed a pleading in the above referenced Docket entitled "Motion of Florida Cities for Leave to Respond."

That Motion sought leave to file, and essentially incorporated a response to, Florida Power 6

Light Company's answer to Cities'etition to Intervene.

FPL's response to Cities'otion is technically due today.

Counsel for Cities has informed the undersigned that Cities Motion was filed without knowledge that the Board had already ruled upon Cities'etition (Order dated June 3,

1981), that Cities now view their Motion as "moot," and that in Cities'iew a response by FPL is unnecessary.

While Cities have not, to FPL's knowledge,. formally withdrawn their.

Motion, FPL agrees that it is moot, and believes it should be disposed of on that basis.
