Thank you for providing the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) with the opportunity to review and comment on the U.S. Government Accountability Offices (GAOs) draft report GAO-17-546, Low-Dose Radiation: Interagency Collaboration on Research Planning Could Improve Information on Health Effects. The NRC has reviewed the draft report and finds that it accurately reflects the NRCs research efforts in low-dose radiation health effects and its regulatory role in protecting public health and safety. The NRC has one minor comment for GAO consideration. Please see the comment in the enclosure to this letter.
