One JCO requ.ired approval and was resolved* via' staff review this week.

Quad Cities 1/2 - Dresden 2/3 All remaining open items for Dresden and Quad Cities were resolved, however, these plants remain incomplete as the post accident environmental envelope inside containment (pressure and temperature) has not been approved by Containment Systems Branch (CSB).

No exceptions exist for.either Dresden or Quad Cities.

On review we have detennined that about a dozen other plants are also in this situation. Action has been initiated to enlist a more timely review by CSB.

  • 7 19a4 Oconee 1/2/3 All open items for Oconee 1/2/3 were resolved.

An extension of the deadline may be required to allow changeout of a sample line valve on Unit 2 if their scheduled refueling outage runs late. This will not be known for a few months.

Brunswick 1/2 All open items for Brunswick 1/2 were resolved. Baring any unforeseen purchasing delays Unit 1 will be in compliance before the deadline. Unit 2 currently has a problem in meeting the desired. schedule. The extent of their schedular problem has not been detennined at this time, due to a heavy work-load and the long duration of an upcoming outage' (30 week* outage).

Implementation of E.Q.

related fixes won't be completed until after November 1985. A request for a time extension is expected.. No new JCOs were necessary.

A list of attendees is enclosed; note that ACRS was represented* at the Dresden/

Quad Cities meeting. A status report and schedule of upcoming meetings is also enclosed. The expected submittal dates for the completed meetings represent negotiated dates.

TVA attended our EQ meeting on January 31, 1984, and should select dates shortly.

Salem 1/2 and Indian Point 2 need to corrmit to a meeting date. Project managers for these plants should encourage their licensees to corrmit to a meeting date to expedite completion of the EQ effort.. Please notify the undersigned on

  • x28563 concerning these. matters.
