  • S *l i t er of E PR I, represent i n g the u t i 1 i t y members, ask e d me to serve*as utility coordinator of.the EPRI/UtilityEquipment Qualification Owners G~oup.

I have accepted the invitation to serve in this capacity*

G. Sliter will continue to coordinate the research aspects of EPRI funded wort.

    • The Owners Gr.oup meets twice a year, usually during the months of :May and November,

~ith an average.repre$entation of.approxfmately thirty utilities.

In the past,* many utilities have optioned to send different people to ~uccesive meetings with the result that overall continuity has not been mai.ntained.

At the information exchange meetings held with the NRC in June and September of this year, the industry was rep~es~nted by an informal.ad hoc committees made up of individuals who

.are. both* active _in 'the field arid who have attended most, if not al 1, of the EPRI sponsored equipment qualification meetings.

Approximately ten utilities are repres~nted on this committee giving it a good cross

. section of operating experience and providing it with a good ba~e of

. technical experience.

If information ~xchange ~eeting are required in the futur~ it is my intention to invite the members of the ad.hoc committee to represen~ the industrj together with G. Sliter of EPRI.
