comprehensive and was implemented by staff well-versed in itS application .. We c6ndud~-that

radioactive waste streams were processed into solid, dewatered forms in aecordance with the . * .

station's process control prc)gram and. that radwaste staff oversight of the vendor's onsite waste

processing activities was effective. We also concluded that radioactive materials and*

radwastes were characterized~ packaged and shipped in accordance with NRC and Department

of Transportation requirements and station procedures, and that personnel.involved in * *

transportation activities were adequately trained.

However, based on the results of this inspection, a violation was identified with the la~ling of

some containers located in satellite areas and that were used to store radioactively

contaminated tools and equipment. The violation is being treated as a Non-Cited Violation

/

(NCV), consistent with Appendix C of the Enforcement Policy. In addition, some deficiencies

were noted with the scope of surveillance activities, radioactive material inventory and with

certain preparations for package shipments.
